Hi! Since you obviously like playing cards, we figured it would be okay to update you about our new Kickstarter, which involves playing cards as well. We will launch this new Kickstarter campaign tomorrow: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/michieldewit/spieldigital-collectible-playing-cards. In co-operation with SPIEL we will be making a playing card deck containing 54 games that will be launched on SPIEL.digital this year. It will be a great keep-sake, but may also help you to get some inspiration and navigate the vast number of new games launched this year.

This Kickstarter will be entirely pro-bono, as our main aim is to help (smaller) publishers and authors reach their audience, now that there would be a physical event to showcase their products. So if you'd like to help out, consider getting a deck or even adopting a card and promote your favorite new SPIEL title.

The campaign will launch tomorrow afternoon, 1pm CEST.

Booklet available on Leanpub

All backers received a physical copy of the 'rulebook' for the Ultimate Planning Poker deck. As some people may like to get a digital copy (for reference on their smartphone or Kindle, for instance), we have just published it as an eBook on Leanpub. Leanpub is a great place to go for all sorts of eBooks and they support PDF, EPUB and MOBI eBooks.

Bundled with the eBook version of the rulebook is a full set of Print & Play files for the deck. So if you haven't gotten those yet, this is the perfect opportunity!

To get your copy of the eBook, go here: leanpub.com/ultimateplanningpoker.

That's All Folks!

A few weeks ago we announced that all rewards had been shipped out. We now have confirmation most of these rewards have actually reached their destination. That's quite a relief, given the current situation in global logistics. If you haven't received your reward yet, please let us know and we'll see what may have gone wrong.

Finished

With all rewards shipped and (mostly all) received, this Kickstarter campaign is now really finished. We had a great time organizing it, being in contact with all backers, and shipping our decks (that really turned out great!) to all these places around the world. Unfortunately, due to the Corona-thing, shipping turned out to be a bit of a nightmare and we've had to disappoint some backers. Again, we are very sorry for that.

Because shipping costs turned out much higher than we expected, financially this project has turned out more challenging than we hoped it would. We still have about 70 decks remaining of the campaign. If you are interested in getting some more decks, please let us know and we'll see what we can do.

So what now?

Well, we are working on our next Kickstarts, of course. Yes, you are right, plural! We are working on two very cool projects: one involved an original game designed by ourselves. It will be called Catch That Mouse and will be a very light (and animal-friendly) game of cheese and mouse. We're not quite sure when it will launch, but it will be a blast for sure. Just check out some of the early artwork sketches:

Our other project involves two existing games we will be localizing for the Dutch / Belgium market. We will most likely be Kickstarting these two games as a bundle, since they are so much related. One of them you may already know: CuBirds. That game is just awesome. And it has wone some prizes too! The gameplay is fairly light, the artwork is phenomenal. Oddly, it was illustrated by a Dutch designer, but the game was never published in The Netherlands. We felt that needed to be fixed.

The artwork of CuBirds is just phenomenal

The other game in the bundle is sort of a spiritual successor to CuBirds. It's called Wild Cards and features the same kind of mind-blowing artwork CuBirds does. Gameplay is a little tougher though, so you may consider it a next step. It's a solid auction game with an animal theme. The game is currently in the last stages of development. So as soon as we are ready to go to print, we'll launch the Kickstarter.

So those are our plans. Oh, and we are still considering a second Kickstarter to get some more of these gorgeous white metal Rollecate miniatures made. Anyone interested in that?

All rewards have been shipped!

It took us some time, but all backer rewards have now been picked, packed and shipped! Most backers will have already received a confirmation of this. The US backers will have to wait a little longer, as their rewards are currently being shipped overseas for their final distribution.

Again, we would like to thank you very much for your support and we are looking forward to pictures of your sessions with our deck!

The decks have arrived!

Good afternoon. We hope you are doing fine. On our side, things are stable. Half of the world is currently struggling to continue life as normally as possible and we are no exception. As a result of all the 'weirdness', our original timeline for this Kickstarter got a little messed up. But there is some really good news: we just received the decks from the printer and they look awesome!

Ahead of time, we received the printed decks and they look awesome!

Currently, we are finalizing the booklets to go with these decks. As soon as the proofreader clears the files, we will get them printed and we should be able to start shipping by the end of next week! The Print & Play backers will receive the booklet a little earlier, of course.

Our little 'All you need to know about Planning Poker' booklet is almost ready to be printed

Because of the Corona-situation, we may have to get a little creative when it comes to shipping overseas. As you may know, most of the airmail is actually carried by passenger flights. As the number of passenger flights has been reduced considerably, the capacity for airmail is now much more limited. Sending packages abroad is still possible but at much higher costs. We will try and get a good overview of the current situation.

It is quite possible we may have to delay some of the shipping or ask for a voluntary extra contribution for the shipping costs. Also, we are looking for people that would want to consider distributing packages in the country to help reduce shipping costs, most urgently in the UK, Australia and Canada.
